Aja [ey-zhuh, ey-shuh]

Brand Strategist | Executive Producer | DE&I Disruptor

New Jersey native bouncing between Los Angeles and Tulum.

My career extends across energy and entertainment. I moved to California in 2015 to pursue a marketing career through renewable energy campaigns with the states key utility providers; and made the transition into advertising and media in 2018.

My transition began at a small but mighty Hollywood advertising agency, who’s specialty was launching & growing challenger brands. During my agency sprint I led 360 creative & media strategy for various CPG and Entertainment brands such as Harmless Harvest, Kiva Confections and Sony Pictures.

In my tenure I quickly found out about the lack of Black representation within advertising and media - on all sides: the decision makers, the talent, and paid spend with black and brown publishers + creators. This awareness grew into a passion to disrupt the industry.

In late 2020 I made the transition to Blavity, Inc. as Director of Branded Campaigns. The focus of my work is to develop compelling & authentic advertising campaigns featuring black and brown people, produced by black and brown creators.

In 2021 I achieved a personal & professional goal of executive producing all major projects with 90% black & brown creators. Additionally, all projects in 2021 amplified black voices & directly impacted the black community with positive messages.
